With regard to Truss "C" South-East angle your firm asked in your letter of the 10th September for certain work to be kept back and the detail to enable the work to proceed was received on the 14th October last (see above).

Any delay here is due to want of details such as sizes of valley and construction of same. I attach for your information copies of correspondence to date which has passed between Messrs. Sang Lee and Co. and this Department in
reference to their claim.
I am afriad that I cannot agree with you in the reason you attribute to Sang Lee for making a
claim and I must state that there can be no doubt
that the Contractors have been delayed in carrying out the work through lack of proper plans. They asked for plans longer ago than a year.

I concur with you in thinking that the posi-
tion of the building today is such that it is im- possible for the Contractors to complete the roof for
some months to come but this isdue to the standstill
to which work was practically brought for the reasons
given above.
